RAM: Steps to Check and Troubleshoot It


RAM is random access memory and is necessary for successful completion of applications and programs running in computer system. It suggests the memory or data storage capabilities of a machine. The data stored in it can be accessed at any point and can be called randomly. Computer setup consist motherboard and motherboard contains the RAM chips and stores the data and vital pieces of information. More RAM more speed as the data retrieval process can be carried more quickly and easily.

There are several operating systems on which computer works such as windows 7, XP, Mac and so on, and to check the RAM each of them precede different steps. To check the RAM on windows XP operating system steps are as follows,

First method:
·         Click on Start.
·         Right click on ‘my computer’ on start menu window.
·         Click on properties and choose the tab ‘general’.

Second method:
·         Click on start.
·         Press ‘windows key + r key’ to open run dialogue box.
·         Type ‘DXDIAG’ in the dialogue box and press enter.
·         See your system configuration their.

     These are the methods by which you can you can check the RAM configuration and know how much memory space you have to run your applications successfully. Steps to run memory diagnostic tool manually are as follows,

·         Click the ‘start’ button.
·         Then click ‘control panel’.
·         Type ‘memory’ in the search box.
·         Click ‘diagnose your computer’s memory problem’.
